LIP BLUSH TREATMENT
Lip blush is no doubt a beautiful option for those who want to accentuate the lips, add permanent color, change the shape slightly or have a bigger lip illusion. This procedure is one of my favorites and it looks really beautiful. Keep in mind that the pigment will fade up to 50% after the first session. After the first session, it is very important to follow the aftercare instructions and return in 4-6 weeks for the 2nd and final session (touch-up) to see the healed results and conduct an evaluation. We also add pigment to areas that faded and fix any “imperfections.”
Lip fillers have to be done either 4 weeks prior to a lip blush procedure or 4 weeks after. Same goes for facial waxing, lasers, Botox and chemical peels. People who have ever had a cold sore or have any type of herpes can be prone to a lip flare-up after the lip blush procedure so it is important to have medicine on hand in case a flare comes up. Consult a doctor to obtain an anti-viral medication as a preventative procedure.
With lip blush, it is recommended to do an optional annual touch-up to freshen up the pigment. However, the pigment can look great for up to 3 years. The procedure takes about 2 hours, but I like to schedule for 3 hours to cover an initial consultation, discuss aftercare instructions and pick the perfect color. We use numbing creams and gels throughout the whole process. It is one of my main priorities to make clients feel comfortable and include them in every part of the decision making process.
Please note: For the first 4-5 days, lips may be sensitive to touch, slightly swollen, appear uneven, and the color may be brighter than desired. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic lip procedures.

AFTERCARE & HEALING
Your post-procedure lip care consists of cleaning your lips every hour for the first four hours after your procedure and then every three to four hours the day after your procedure using our aftercare pads which will be provided to you. In between each wipe, Aquaphor should be applied to your lips and your lips should be kept moist and coated at all times even at night. You must apply a thick coat of Aquaphor to your lips before bedtime. We recommend keeping your lips coated and moisturized for 3- 4 weeks post-procedure. Your lips may slightly scab and peel. You must let the scabbing process happen naturally. This is very important for your retention and skin healing. Do NOT pick at the scabs, scratch your lips, peel your scabs off, or scrub the area. This can result in scarring and will affect your overall retention of the pigment.

FAQ
+ How long does the treatment take?
The procedure takes roughly about 2 hours, depending on how you want your brows to be completed Please allow a solid 2 and a half hour window for your appointment. We likely won’t need that much time, but our artists likes to take all the time a client might need.
+ How often do I need a touch-up?
Touch-ups are recommended every 6-8 weeks, to keep the color fresh and the strokes crisp. Some people can go longer before getting a touch-up, so it all depends on you.
+ Does it hurt?
Some people say that they do not feel anything and all, and some people say there is some discomfort associated with the procedure. A topical anesthetic is used to numb the area, and then reapplied as needed.
+ What should I do after the procedure?
Follow the aftercare instructions given to you. You will also receive an aftercare kit after the treatment is complete.
+ Do I need to take time off from work?
No. There’s no downtime associated with the treatment. Redness and swelling will dissipate within an hour after. Your brows will appear darker initially, but not so dark that you will be prevented from your activities of daily living.
+ How long does it take to heal?
Healing time varies from person to person. Usually, it takes about a week to ten days for the epithelial crust to form and slough off (just like a tattoo). Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. Then, the pigment takes some time to settle into the skin. A good month should pass before we consider the process complete.
+ What’s the process like?
Microblading is a two step treatment, consisting of an initial procedure and then a perfecting touch-up after 4 to 6 weeks. After we take your before photo, we shape your eyebrows and decide on the color. Shortly after that, a topical anesthetic will be administered to ensure comfort. Once you’re numb, the procedure begins and the artist will implant the pigment into your epidermis. During healing, it’s normal to experience some pigment loss; this is why we have the touch up in place. The process is considered to be complete 4 weeks after the first touch up.
+ What can’t I do after the procedure?
The number one thing our artists cannot stress enough is to please follow carefully your aftercare instructions! Also, we do not recommend to touch your brows, as it interrupts the healing process and you will be left with a less than desirable result once your brows have healed. You are also advised to keep the skin clean and dry—that means no swimming, sweating or otherwise getting the area wet; no tanning or prolonged sun exposure; no picking or peeling the tattoo. You can still wash your hair and face and once they’re healed up, you treat them as your own.
+ What kind of pigments are used?
All the colors are NONE iron-oxide based and have been FDA approved. A wide range of colors are available so that artists can help you choose what works best for your face and hair color.
